Balbir Singh Beri belonged to the elite regt. of the Indian Army and Indu Beri her mother is an entrepreneur. She did her schooling from various schools all over India as she came from an Army background. She completed her graduation from Lady Shri Ram CollegeWomen's college in New Delhi,IN after which her passion towards designing lead her to National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi,IN in 1987 which was the first batch with only 25 students.

About her personal life, Ritu tied knot with Bobby Chadha in 2004, who is an entrepreneur dealing with import/export business in Delhi. The beautiful couple were blessed with a little angel 'Gia', who was born in August 2007. The first major appreciation in Ritu's career by people was when she presented her first designer collection "Lavanya" just after she passed out from NIFT. In 1990, she decided to launch her own brand "Ritu Beri". She became the first Indian to represent India at Paris as she showcased her collection named "la semaine de la haute couture". Later she came up with her own personal fashion book named "101 ways to look good". She also designed the most expensive Barbie doll. She is the one and only Indian designer to be featured in the promostyl’s magazine. Ritu's passion towards fashion has never stopped her not only as a fashion designer but she is a very skilled auther too. Author Ritu has wrote 5 books in the field of fashion - Firefly a Fairytale, 101 Ways to Look Your Best, Style File, The Designs of a Restless Mind, The Fire of a Restless Mind.

Apart from being a Fashion Designer, Ritu Beri is also spectacular in writing. She has gifted the world with 5 books till date. In 2006, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar released Ritu's maiden book, "Firefly: A Fairytale", which she herself published. The book deals with topics like women's beauty, architecture, history and Ritu Beri's experiences in Paris. It was a limited edition book with only 100 copies which also was the most expensive Indian book pricing Rs 1 lakh. The book release was a great success as it was sold out in hours and then went in to print the second edition the very next day.


"Firefly is about my experiences in the fashion industry. It's not my autobiography and I prefer to call it a fairy tale. I enjoy exploring the impossibilities and like to work in an inspired mode only to satisfy myself and my passions" says Ritu...

Awards for Ritu Beri
When it comes to Awards, Ritu has a great collection to her wall of fame. Her first achievement was when she was awarded with Millenium Achiever Award in 2000. She also received Rashtriya Shiromani Award the same year. In 2004, she was awarded with Global Excellence Award, Kalpana Chawla Excellence Award in 2007 for excelling in her area of expertise. Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres was one of her most prestigious award which she bagged during the French Government in the late 2010's. Ritu was noted as Delhi's Most Stylish Awards in 2013. She was declared as the "Link Lady of India" by Tag Heuer in 2013. Spanish Government credited her with "The Lady of the Order of Civil Merit" in 2014. In 2016 she received "The Inspirational Power Brands Glam Award" and she still has a lot more in the coming years...
This summer, pink is going to be in fashion, and this does not mean just on the ramp but in daily wear also.
